HUMPBACK WHALE
Whale tales!...
It’s called a humpback whale due to its back forming a hump
when it dives. 45 feet long for 30 tons once an adult, it has a
life expectancy of 80 years if it doesn’t end up in the hold
of a whaling ship.
Incredibly agile, it is capable of
leaps that project its entire body out of water.
On the other hand, while less impressive, its digital double is
much more docile. It obeys every beck and call and can even be trained
to
juggle a ball.
If necessary, it can easily transform itself to become the very
rare and little known Butterfly
Whale evolving in its natural environment… |
But before that, it’s necessary to create a detailed and realistic
model, to set up a rig coupled with a procedural animation script,
to work and re-work the textures and lighting so they conform to
reality, to finely tune the compositing in order to obtain the desired
result
In the end, this represents many long work days spent taming the
greatest of mammals.
